Child- and human-centered education is the most important step towards an ethical-ecological society. The Education working group is making progress through public lectures and courses, and through collaboration with educational institutions and government.
The working group develops projects for the Institute for Teacher Training concerning E.A.S.T. (Energetic Awareness, Sensibility and Transformation).
This forms the core of training for teachers and students, which focuses on the balanced development of thinking, feeling, and willing (head, heart, hands). This enables teachers to maintain an optimal learning environment in students and classrooms by transforming inhibiting energy into activating energy.
Every year, the working group organizes a Holistic Medicine project for the final year students of the Medical Scientific Institute.
THEN A teacher said: Speak to us about teaching.
And he said:
No one can reveal to you except what lies already half asleep in the dawn of your knowledge. The teacher who walks in the shadow of the temple, among his disciples, does not give of his wisdom, but rather of his faith and his love.
If he is indeed wise, he does not invite you to enter the house of his wisdom, but leads you to the threshold of your own spirit.
The astronomer may tell you of his insight into space, but he cannot give you his insight.
The musician may sing of the rhythm that fills all space, but he cannot give you the ear that holds the rhythm, nor the voice that echoes it.
And he who is versed in the science of numbers can tell of the realms of weight and measure, but he cannot lead you there.
For one person’s vision does not lend its wings to another.
For as each of you stands alone in God’s knowledge, so must each be alone in his knowledge of God and in his understanding of the earth.
(From “The Prophet” by Kahlil Gibran)
The core ideas of the new education system are briefly described in the article by the working group “For the Preservation of the Earth and Humanity,” published in Educare, the magazine of the Universal Education Foundation, Volume 16, No. 3, 1998.
